Hotel stay working out

When the Knights decided to check into a local hotel during the Memorial Cup tournament, some thought it might be a big mistake because the move differed from the players' usual routine for home games.

The Knights had won all but two games played at home this year, so why mess with a good thing?

Knights forward Josh Beaulieu said yesterday at the team's optional morning skate at the Western Fair Sports Centre that it felt a bit strange to stay at a city hotel, but the plan has drawn the team together and helped to maintain a focus.

"We have our free time where we can be with out families. But other than that, we're just all together at the hotel," he said.

"It's not the same as staying at your billets but it's OK. You do get a little bit antsy in there. There's a lot of down time."
