OTTAWA -- No more pen pals.

But London Knights captain Danny Syvret will phone Sidney Crosby to congratulate him and his Rimouski Oceanic on qualifying for the Memorial Cup.

"It will be exciting," Syvret said yesterday of playing against Crosby after being teammates on the world champion Canadian juniors.

"I was talking to him on the computer before their series and I wished him luck. He said he was wishing he could be in London and I said, 'I hope for Ontario's sake and London's sake you are so everyone can see how good you are.'

"He sort of gave a humble answer -- 'We've got to get past Halifax first.' "

But now that the two are enemies, the e-mails will end, Syvret said, just like he and Canada captain Michael Richards stopped e-mailing before the London-Kitchener Western Conference final.

"I'll give Sid a call and say, 'Good luck and see you on the Saturday' and leave it at that."
