The Knights' Corey Perry logged 30 minutes 46 seconds of ice time. He caught a break on his goal as Rangers defenceman Mark Fraser tried a cute flip pass to get the puck past Perry deep in the Kitchener zone.

Perry gloved it out of the air and skated in alone to score.

The Rangers' Michael Richards was in the right place at the right time for his winning goal, picking up a loose puck after two London players collided at the bench.

Richards was killing a Kitchener penalty and scored his fourth short-handed goal of the playoffs. He had two against Owen Sound in the semifinals.

In one-on-one confrontations, Richards twice showed his strength by knocking Perry to the ice.

Richards didn't have Brandon Prust to contend with as much as in Game 1 as the Rangers had the last change last night.

Richards let his shadow get to him when he high-sticked Prust in the third period, a minute and a half after Richards scored his first goal.

Richards and Perry both went off for slashing 30 seconds after Richards emerged from the penalty box.
