IceDog barking at ref

Danel Carcillo has had enough of what he thinks is unfair officiating in the OHL. The Mississauga IceDogs forward unleashed a calm but profanity-laced tirade after the IceDogs' 3-1 loss to the St. Michael's Majors last night. Carcillo directed his venom at the OHL and last night's referee, Ryan Carroll.

"I am sick of this league not taking control of (officiating)," Carcillo said after the Majors scored three power-play goals. "What's going to happen? Nothing. Carroll is going to go out and ref another game the exact same way. If I am the only guy who is going to speak out, it doesn't bother me at all."

Carcillo was suspended for the remainder of the regular season after a cross-checking incident against Sudbury in January but recently was reinstated for the playoffs by OHL commissioner David Branch. One can imagine Branch won't be pleased with Carcillo's verbal barrage.

Last night, Carcillo drew a couple of Majors penalties in the first period but later was assessed a couple. Overall, the Majors had seven power plays. The IceDogs had five.

"I don't know how (Carroll) grows the (expletive) balls to call a game like that," Carcillo said. "He is telling every (IceDog) to get out when it's every (Major) who is starting it. It's upsetting, it's bull (expletive). It's so frustrating when you try to play a game and the guy just puts it in his own hands and he tries to be the difference."
