Tough chore awaits Storm
By TERRY KOSHAN -- Toronto Sun
Dave Barr has no illusions regarding his club's chances against the London Knights.
Barr, the general manager/coach of the Guelph Storm, has the unenviable task of preparing his team for its first-round series against the Knights. London, which finished 63 points ahead of the Storm in the regular season, tonight plays host to Game 1 of the Western Conference quarter-final.
"Our objective is to win one game, and that's the first game," Barr said. "Our whole focus is preparing to play (tonight). We know what we're up against. We're not going to stop them, but we have to limit their chances. I don't think London is going into this series too worried about us."
ONE LAST SHOT
Tyler Harrison of the Brampton Battalion is heading into the final stage of his OHL career and he acknowledged that fact has been weighing on him.
"It seems like yesterday I was coming in here for my first training camp," said the overage forward, who led Brampton with 31 goals this season. "I've had a lot of fun and I'm going to give it a little extra knowing it's my last chance."
His older brother, Jay Harrison, now with the St. John's Maple Leafs, also played four years for Brampton.
The Owen Sound Attack will be without overage forward Robin Big Snake for the first three games of its series against the Plymouth Whalers. Big Snake received a five-game suspension, of which he has served two, for bullying tactics against the Erie Otters last week ... Overage forward Adam Keefe of the Kitchener Rangers is suspended for the first playoff game against the Otters after incurring a gross misconduct against Erie last week.
There have been a few changes in the schedule for the series between the Barrie Colts and Ottawa 67's. The Colts will play host to Game 1 tonight and Game 2 on Saturday. Game 3 will be in Ottawa next Wednesday, followed by Game 4 in the nation's capital next Friday ... Sarnia Sting coach Shawn Camp has been named coach of Canada's under-18 team for the under-18 world championship next month in the Czech Republic.
