, Last Updated: 8:17 AM ET

SUN THREE STARS:

1. Ryan Russell, Ice -- Creative

LW had a goal and an assist.

2. Shaun Landolt, Hitmen -- Fantastic feed on Ryan Getzlaf's goal.

3. Ben Maxwell, Ice -- Rookie had extra jump.

TURNING POINT:

With the Kootenay Ice enjoying one of their endless powerplay opportunities, Ryan Russell sent a pass in front to a pinching Martin Sagat. The Slovakian import one-timed it into the top corner for a 3-2 lead. Kootenay, which is 34-1-4-2 when leading in the third period, was in control the rest of the way.

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Caroline product Ryan Russell showed great patience before sliding a pass to a trailing Adam Taylor, who made a move and tried to go five-hole but Hitmen starter Justin Pogge was having none of it, temporarily preserving Calgary's 2-1 lead midway through the second.

HARDEST WORKER:

Rookie import Konstantin Pushkarev showed a willingness to do the dirty work, dominating down low and along the boards.

HIT OF THE GAME:

Hitmen LW Darryl Moscaluk was in a bad mood from start to finish. Late in the second period, far away from the play, the 19-year-old blindsided Kootenay D Derek Price into the boards.

HITMEN -- RW Keegan Dansereau (illness), RW Roman Tomanek (shoulder, week to week), D Darryl Yacboski (shoulder, day to day), D Dylan Yeo (knee, day to day),
