SUN THREE STARS: 1. Justin Pogge, Hitmen -- A stellar night between the pipes for the tireless 'tender, who made 37 saves and preserved the tie.

2. Ryan Getzlaf, Hitmen -- Scored goal and notched an assist, all in the second period.

3. Roman Wick, Rebels -- Scored both Red Deer goals, including the tying tally late in the contest.

HARDEST WORKER:

Jeff Schultz, Hitmen -- With five defencemen for most of the night, Schultz double-shifted and didn't miss a beat.

TURNING POINT:

A late powerplay goal by Roman Wick, his second of the night, with 1:33 left tied it up for the Rebels.

HIT OF THE GAME:

Rebels rookie call-up Matthew Cline got a WHL initiation courtesy of a monster check from Andrew Ladd, who sent Cline flying. Ladd was called for elbowing on the play but it looked like a clean hit.

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Hitmen G Justin Pogge made a couple of beauties in the second. First he got his right toe on a point blast from sniper Ty Morris. Minutes later, Pogge stole a goal from Roman Wick, who took a cross-ice feed from Colin Fraser.

16-year-old Brandon Sutter, head coach Brent Sutter's son, from the Red Deer Rebels of the AMHL, but the youngster didn't dress for last night's contest.
