SUN THREE STARS

TURNING POINT:

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Hitmen G Justin Pogge came out to cut down the angle and turned away Michael Kaye's slapper halfway through overtime. The save was all for nought as the 'Canes scored a minute later.

HIT OF THE GAME:

Lethbridge RW Michael Kaye came in hard on the forecheck and unloaded on Hitmen D Jeff Schultz behind the net midway through the opening period.

HARDEST WORKER:

Calgary RW Steve Covington was his usual blur of motion but also chipped in with a goal -- his first since Jan. 2, a span of 25 games.

HITMEN -- D Darryl Yacboski (shoulder, day to day), RW Roman Tomanek (shoulder, week to week), D Tyler Harder (personal).

'CANES -- C Tyler Redenbach (broken finger, week to week), C Kenny Petkau (MCL, 2 weeks), D Lenny Thunderchild.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The third-place Hitmen (32-21-8-4) move four points ahead of fourth-place Red Deer, which has two games in hand, in the Central Division.

NOTEWORTHY:

The Hurricanes have won eight straight games, four in overtime ... D Jeff Schultz is the only Hitmen player to suit up in all 64 games this season.
