The Hitmen killed off a 5-on-3 for 1:30 in the second period and scored shortly after when Brodie Dupont converted Andrew Ladd's rebound to give the Hitmen a 3-2 lead.

Hitmen LW Darryl Moscaluk broke in alone early in the third period and tried to go five-hole but Red Deer starter Andrew Leslie shut the door.
