TURNING POINT:

With the score tied at two, Justin Pogge stopped Tyler Boldt's point shot but was unable to control the rebound. Aaron Bader jumped on it and scored the winner six minutes into the third period.

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Hitmen rookie RW Keegan Dansereau did some fancy footwork to corral a loose puck and made a great pass to fellow freshman Ryan White who sent a wrister labelled for the top corner but Ryan Cyr flashed the leather.

HIT OF THE GAME:

Hitmen C Shaun Landolt rocked Joe Barnes behind the Hitmen net, popping the helmet off the Blades centre. The hit couldn't have been cleaner, yet Landolt was whistled for elbowing, much to the chagrin of the Saddledome crowd.

HARDEST WORKER:

RW Brett O'Malley doesn't pack a lot of weight but dished out some major hits on the forecheck.

HITMEN -- D Tyler Harder, LW Isaac Reid.

BLADES -- D Dane Crowley, C Chris Cloud.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The third-place Hitmen (30-21-7-4) remain one point ahead of the Red Deer Rebels in the Central Division.

NOTEWORTHY:

The Blades were 3-for-10 on the powerplay while the Hitmen converted on two of eight opportunities ... Saskatoon took the season series against Calgary 3-2 ... The Blades have scored a league-high 16 shorthanded goals this season ... Calgarian Mike Green, the WHL's top-scoring blueliner, leads the loop with a plus/minus of plus-38 ... The Hitmen will retire the number of Brad Moran, the franchise's all-time leading scorer, Friday when the Red Deer Rebels visit.
