HITMEN 3 KOOTENAY ICE 3

- - -

SUN THREE STARS:

1. Shaun Landolt, Hitmen -- Scored go-ahead goal in the third and was a physical presence

2. Ryan Getzlaf, Hitmen -- Made an impression in his return to the lineup.

3. Nigel Dawes, Ice -- Dangerous every time he's on the ice.

- - -

TURNING POINT:

Dale Mahovsky broke the Hitmen's hearts late in regulation. Mahovsky walked in and fired a shot past Justin Pogge with just 5.9 seconds remaining to earn the Ice a point.

- - -

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Cochrane product Jeff Glass was the only reason the Hitmen didn't come away with the win. With a minute left in OT, Ryan Getzlaf fed linemate Andrew Ladd on a 2-on-1 but Glass slid across to make a miraculous stop with the right pad.

HARDEST WORKER:

LW Andrew Ladd continued to have a lot of jump.

- - -

SCRATCHES:

* HITMEN -- D Tyler Harder, LW Isaac Reid.

* BRONCOS -- RW Andy Bossence (ribs), D Brad Cole (broken arm, one week), RW Laine Allen.

- - -

WHAT IT MEANS:

The Hitmen (30-20-7-4) remain in a dogfight for spots two through four in the Central Division.

- - -

NOTEWORTHY:

World junior gold-medal G Jeff Glass saw his record go to 14-2-2 (both losses coming in OT) since returning to the club. He set a franchise record with his 68th career victory this week, surpassing Dan Blackburn on the all-time list ... World junior LW Nigel Dawes leads the league with 11 game-winners ... The Ice are guaranteed to finish above .500 for the sixth straight season and have clinched a post-season berth for the seventh consecutive campaign.
