SUN THREE STARS:

1. KONSTANTIN PUSHKAREV, Hitmen: Put on another stickhandling clinic and scored twice.

2. TYREL LUCAS, Hitmen: Three-point effort in first game with new club.

3. JOE BARNES, Blades: Scored once and had a handful of good chances.

TURNING POINT:

Konstantin Pushkarev and Tyrel Lucas scored third-period goals 1:38 apart to give the Hitmen a lead they would not relinquish.

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Blades LW Aaron Bader was looking for his second goal in the final few minutes but Hitmen G Justin Pogge flashed the leather to snag the visitor's shot labelled for the top corner.

HIT OF THE GAME:

Newly acquired Hitmen D Dylan Yeo blasted Zdenek Bahensky behind the Calgary net midway through the opening period.

FIGHT CARD:

Calgary's Brodie Dupont/Saskatoon's Nicolaus Knudsen. The Blades defenceman came to the aid of one of his teammates after Dupont threw a big hit along the boards. The Hitmen rookie landed some solid shots in the spirited bout.

HARDEST WORKER:

Hitmen rookie LW Brodie Dupont was a physical presence, throwing big hits and earning the decision in a fight.
