TURNING POINT:

Nursing a two-goal lead in the second period, the Hitmen blew the game open with a pair of goals 32 seconds apart. Konstantin Pushkarev and Riley Merkley gave the visitors a commanding 4-0 lead and Red Deer never threatened the rest of the way.

BEST SAVE:

Shortly after a Rebels powerplay, Ty Morris picked up a loose puck and, with Scott Bowles seemingly down and out, sent a shot to the top corner but the 18-year-old reached up for a miraculous glove save.

Rebels D Dion Phaneuf caught Calgary rookie Brodie Dupont with a solid check in the second period.

Calgary C Riley Merkley outhussled everyone at both ends of the rink.
