Canadians honoured at worlds

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- In addition to winning their first gold medal since 1997, Canada was well represented when the 2005 World Junior Hockey Championship awards and all-stars were handed out.

Patrice Bergeron was named MVP and Dion Phaneuf was named top defenceman.

Marek Schwarz of the Czech Republic was named top goaltender and Alexander Ovechkin of Russia was named top forward.

Bergeron and Phaneuf were also named to the all-star team along with teammate Jeff Carter.

Other all-stars were Schwarz, Ovechkin and U.S. defenceman Ryan Suter.
