TURNING POINT:

With the Hitmen down by a goal in the third period, Andrew Ladd sparked the comeback with a shorthanded beauty to the top corner. Ladd's cousin Steve Covington potted the game-winner a few minutes later.

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Calgarian Kyle Moir flashed the leather to take a goal away from Hitmen F Ryan Getzlaf late in the first period.

HARDEST WORKER:

Sophomore D Dustin Kohn picked up an assist for his 11th point of the season. He had only nine points all of last year playing with the Hitmen.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN:

The Hitmen (9-5-2-1) move to within two points of Central Division co-leaders Medicine Hat and Red Deer. Calgary has played four more games than the Tigers and one more than the Rebels. The Hitmen have a a four-point cushion on fourth-place Lethbridge.

NOTEWORTHY:

The Hitmen beat Swift Current at home for the first time in over a year. The Broncos, who own a 27-22-2 advantage over the past five years, won all three games at the 'Dome last season ... The Broncos have one of the youngest teams in the WHL although they have no 16 year olds on the roster. The Hitmen have five: G Daniel Spence, D Karl Alzner, RW Keegan Dansereau, C Ryan White and LW Isaac Reid ...Forwards Ryan Getzlaf and Andrew Ladd were both plus-3 in last night's win. Getzlaf leads the team at plus-13 ... In the only other WHL game yesterday, the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the Moose Jaw Warriors 8-7 in Lethbridge. Colton Yellowhorn, from nearby Brocket, scored a goal and added three helpers for the home side. John Lammers led the 'Canes with a pair of goals.
