CAMERON MAXWELL -- Calgary Sun

, Last Updated: 8:30 AM ET

SUN THREE STARS:

1. Ryan White, Hitmen -- The rookie forward scored the game-winner, his second of the campaign.

2. Dustin Slade, Pats -- The visiting goalie stole a few goals away from the Hitmen. He made many great saves and a few spectacular ones.

3. Scott Bowles, Hitmen -- Solid in goal as he picked up his fourth straight win by stopping 20 shots.

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Regina goaltender Dustin Slade came up huge, stopping Hitmen sniper Ryan Getzlaf on a shorthanded breakaway. Getzlaf skated in, faked a shot, then went to the backhand. Slade stayed with him and made a nice pad save.

HIT OF THE GAME:

Calgary F Andrew Ladd set the tone a minute into the contest when he crunched Pats F Jordan McGillivray into the boards with a solid shoulder in the Pats end.

HARDEST WORKER:

Steve Covington, Hitmen. Used his speed all night and was rewarded by getting some powerplay time during which he tallied his third goal of the season.

FIGHT CARD:

Nothing of note but there were several melees that resulted in off-setting roughing penalties.

NEXT UP:

The Hitmen head out to Cranbrook for a tilt against the Kootenay Ice tomorrow night, then return to the 'Dome Sunday for an afternoon game (2:30 p.m.) against the defending Memorial Cup champion Kelowna Rockets.
