Moose tracks
By KIRK PENTON -- Winnipeg Sun

MOOSE 3 RIVERMEN 0

THE SKINNY: Moose netminder Drew MacIntyre made 33 saves to pick up the two points for his team, which mustered only 12 shots. Jason Jaffray, Nathan Smith and J.J. Hunter dented twine, while Brad Moran had two helpers.

THE BLOOD: Moose defenceman Joe Rullier was sent to the showers 32 seconds into the second period when he squashed Peoria forward Trent Whitfield into the glass. The problem was Whitfield was engaged with another Moose player and already up against the glass. Whitfield bled like a stuck pig, but he rubbed some dirt on it and finished the game.

THE QUIRKY STAT: The Moose swept a two-game homestand for the second time in seven tries this season. They swept six of 20 two-game homestands last season and five of 20 the season before that.

THE SCHEDULE: The Moose leave today for Houston, Texas, where the high temperature yesterday was a comfortable 16 C. Manitoba will do the Texas shuffle this week, playing in Houston on Wednesday and Saturday, then in San Antonio on Friday and Sunday.
