If you’re cooling toward the NHL as the lockout drags on, the Bikini Hockey League has you covered.
The BHL, a concept dreamed up by River West Inline Hockey League founder Cary Eskridge, involves women playing roller hockey in little more than helmets and shin pads ... and the prerequesite bikini, of course.
But don’t expect bikini-clad beauties stick-handling at your local rink any time soon.
The league will start with two teams, the formation of which will be the basis of a reality television show, according to Fox Sports Southwest. Eskridge filmed the pilot episode at a mansion in Tulsa, Okla., this summer.
Meanwhile, the league has rolled out its roster of prospects on its website. The lineup includes a few good ol’ Canadian girls.
“With the current lockout of the NHL, we know we can fill your hockey void!” the website crows.
Expect the quality of hockey to be low but, hey, that’s not the real reason you’d tune in anyway, right?
