It was the first time in history that Pinehurst No. 2 has been compared to Weyburn Golf Club in Saskatchewan.
That can mean only one thing, Graham DeLaet is at the U.S. Open.
“The old nine at Weyburn, all the greens are kind of turtleback type greens that took really good iron shots to get on and if you did miss the green it was always difficult to get up and down,” DeLaet said from Pinehurst.
Canada’s only hope at the U.S. Open has six top-10s this season, including two second-place finishes. DeLaet was in good spirits Monday as he talked about the week ahead and announced the launch of the Graham & Ruby DeLaet Foundation.
