It was many years ago that Jack Nicklaus offered his famous description of the putting surfaces at Augusta National Golf Club.

“Putting on the greens at Augusta National is like putting on the hood of a Buick,” said the six-time champion.

That may have been the case way back then, but Phil Mickelson says today’s reality is very different.

“We make bigger (ball marks) on these greens than we make on the regular PGA Tour,” said Mickelson on Tuesday.
