PITTSFORD, N.Y. - You didn’t need to analyze Tiger Woods’ body language to sense he might be in for a frustrating day on Thursday.
Not when his self-deprecating language did the talking for him.
To be fair, he didn’t actually drop an F-bomb or anything like that. But when his second shot of the 2013 PGA Championship came up well short of the green, a frustrated Woods grumbled to himself: “Oh brother, Tiger ... Jesus Christ.”
Keep this in mind: Tiger’s comments did not come in the final round after he’d botched an easy putt or duck-hooked a drive towards downtown Rochester.
This was the first hole of the tournament. He’d hit only one shot prior to that.
He did manage to recover, was 2-under-par after nine holes and appeared ready to deliver a message to the rest of the field.
