Phil has The Smile. Tiger has The Stare.

Phil is chunky. Tiger is chiseled.

Phil is a loyal family man. Tiger, well, he was a walking tabloid headline in golf shoes a couple of years back, remember?

Phil shakes hands with the gallery between holes. Tiger shakes his fist when he loses his composure.

Phil is a southpaw, as the nickname “Lefty” suggests. Tiger isn’t.

As Hunter Mahan pointed out Tuesday, it is indeed a Tale of Two Golfers when it comes to these giants of the sport.

“I don’t think they have a thing in common other that they love to compete and play golf,” Mahan said. “They are so different. How they go about it is so different. Yet they both get it done and get it done at a high level.”

Phil versus Tiger.

Of all the juicy storylines surrounding the 2013 PGA Championship, which tees off at Rochester’s immaculately-manicured Oak Hill Country Club Thursday, this is the one the world is most thirsting to see.
