HOYLAKE, ENGLAND - Have they started sizing up Rory McIlroy’s Green Jacket at Augusta yet?

Because that’s the only Major prize the 25-year-old golf sensation still needs to win to complete a career Grand Slam.

McIlroy fired an uneven one-under-par 71 on Sunday to hold off Sergio Garcia and playing partner Rickie Fowler for his first British Open victory in seven tries.

“It just feels incredible after the win,” McIlroy said after the win.

McIlroy didn’t make it easy on himself, though. He let others back in the game when he had built a seemingly insurmountable six-stroke lead going into the final round.

But his round was just good enough for a two-stroke victory over Garcia and Fowler, who tied for second.

Garcia, who found himself in contention at Hoylake for the second time in his career after heading into the final day in the hunt in 2006, shot six-under par, while Fowler came in at five-under for his second T2 at a Major this season. He also finished runner-up at
