OAKVILLE, ONT. - You would think they could at least have called her Abbey.
Hunter Mahan caused quite a stir at the Canadian Open on Saturday when he pulled out of the tournament about an hour before he was set to tee off in order to be with his wife, Kandi, who was going into labour with their first child.
Mahan, the tournament leader after two rounds at 13-under par, was on the range getting ready for his third round at Glen Abbey when he got the call from Dallas. The baby wasn’t expected for another three weeks so it came as a bit of a shock to the American to get the call. But it didn’t take the world No. 22 long to decide he was pulling out of the event.
