OAKVILLE, ONT. - It’s the third anniversary of day that will live in infamy, one that office inhabitants still speak of only in hushed tones, if at all.

As a result, only one person will associate with columnist Steve Buffery and that’s Beezer himself.

It was at the 2010 RBC Canadian Open at Toronto’s St. George’s Golf and Country Club that he inexplicably decided to take a run at a Canadian golfing icon who was mired in a toxic combination of injuries and poor play.

“Is Mike Weir washed up?” screamed the headline.

As time went on, it became easy for Beez to strut as Weir went through the next two seasons without making a cut, underwent surgery and lost his full-time status.

In 2011, Beez bravely exclaimed in a headline, “Admit it Weir-dos. I was right, Mike’s washed up,” as if to get in that extra boot.
