He had on his traditional red shirt on Sunday, but that was about the only thing this Tiger Woods had in common with the old Tiger Woods, the one that used to wear real golf shoes and close like Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross.

This was his Open championship to win Sunday, maybe his best chance to come from behind at a major for the first time given 54-hole leader Lee Westwood had never won a major and Hunter Mahan, who was tied with Woods for second, two shots back of Westwood going into Sunday, was in the same boat and coming off a potentially scarring collapse at last month’s U.S. Open.
