Leader of the pack Roberto Castro has big dogs chasing at Players Championship
Sizzling start good for three-shot Players lead

With warm temperatures and barely a breath of breeze, the big question isn’t how the course record was tied at TPC Sawgrass in Thursday’s first round of the Players Championship, but who is that guy who shot the nine-under 63 and how did he even get into the so-called fifth major?

That would be Roberto Castro, who finished inside the top 125 (118th) on last year’s money list to earn his ticket in and you’re either foolish or fearless, or a combination of both, to believe he can sustain that level of excellence over the next three rounds.

It would be naive to think that Castro won’t experience at least one bad round and how bad that round (rounds?) is will determine his fate. Patience is a virtue at Sawgrass and frustration intensifies easily for one so inexperienced.
