Tiger thinks best is yet to come

Given Tiger Woods’ reputation as the game’s leading front-runner, it was a foregone conclusion even before the final round began that he was going to get his fifth win in the past year at Doral. He lived up to that reputation, so Tiger is back.

Again.

On Saturday, Woods discussed how the major swing overhauls were complete, how he’s spending more time on his short game and little adjustments when the query came, not the usual one about being “back,” but whether his game compares to his magical 2000 season.

“I don’t want it to be as good. That was never the intent. I want it to be better,” he said.
