2013 is the year of the comeback for Woods, Johnson

Just a month into the 2013 golf season, there has been a lot of talk about who’s back, how far back they are, and whether or not they ever left.

Call it the year of the continuing comebacks.

It has been an encouraging start for the likes of Dustin Johnson, who missed three months of last season with a back injury, Phil Mickelson, who hadn’t won in almost a full year, Tiger Woods, trying to regain his dominant form he had before being derailed by personal indiscretion and injury, and Mike Weir, who had been in the wilderness since his 2010 elbow injury.

Johnson, Mickelson and Woods all have won already, while Weir finally got the missed-cut monkey off his back after a string of 17.

Following each of those victories, observers were quick to speculate about what it might mean.

Do you think Chad Johnson can still play at a high level in the NFL?
Yes, he is a talented receiver
No, he is too old to play
CFL might be a better option
