LA QUINTA, CALIF. - Brad Fritsch has had his share of PGA Tour qualifying school drama.
The 35-year-old pro from Manotick, Ont., is here to take part in the final Q-school before the Tour transitions to a new format next year, when golfers will qualify exclusively through the Web.com Tour.
Started in 1965, Q-school has been the setting for heartbreak and heroics as a player's future -- at least for the next year -- was decided in a 108-hole marathon that saw them try to keep their spirits up and their breakfasts down.
Fritsch, who has earned a PGA Tour card for next year with his 18th place finish on the Web.com Tour, is here to try and improve his status for next year and move up in the pecking order to improve his chances of getting into more early events in 2013.
