Canadian Open moves to Montreal
By QMI Agency

The Canadian Open will return to La Belle Province in 2014.

Golf Canada announced Monday that the 2014 version of the tournament will be contested at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, the host venue for the 2007 Presidents Cup. Royal Montreal has also staged the Canadian Open on nine previous occasions, the most recent being in 2001 when Scott Verplank got the win.

"Royal Montreal shares a long and storied history with both Golf Canada and Canada's National Open Championship dating back more than a century," said Golf Canada executive director Scott Simmons. "We are thrilled to add to that special legacy again in 2014."

Royal Montreal, the oldest golf club in North America, hosted the inaugural Canadian Open in 2004.

The 2013 Canadian Open will be held at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville next July.
