OTTAWA - Brad Fritsch is one of six Canadians added to the RBC Canadian Open later this month in Hamilton.
Golf Canada announced Tuesday that Fritsch, of Manotick, Ont., has been given an exemption into the July 23-29 PGA Tour event at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club. It will be the fifth time he will participate in the event.
Fritsch is 36th on the Web.com (formerly Nationwide) Tour money list this season, second among Canadians. The top 25 on that tour at season's end earn PGA Tour cards for next season.
Golf Canada also gave Canadian Open exemptions to Kingston's Matt McQuillan, Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C., Richard Scott of Kingsville, Ont., Andrew Parr of London and Eugene Wong of Vancouver.
In 2011, Fritsch had earned a berth to the Canadian Open in Vancouver at a Monday qualifying event and proceeded to make the cut for the first time in four tries.
