Jesper Parnevik's career is in doubt after he nearly severed his right index finger in a boating accident, the Golf Channel reported Friday.

Parnevik's right hand was caught in a motorized winch as he was taking his boat out of the water. The 47-year-old had surgery Thursday in Jupiter, Fla.

"When I saw the edges of the machine, I was 100 percent sure that I lost all the fingers. I was terrified," Parnevik said in an interview with Sweden's Aftonbladet.se that was translated to English.

"The doctor thinks that it will be good, but it can take a hell of a time (four months of rehab). I think that you cannot do so damn much without the right hand. It is quite important, not just in golf," he said.

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
