Healthy Stephen takes aim at Skins Game
By Wes Gilbertson, QMI Agency

Stephen Ames will be at Banff Springs.

The Calgary-based PGA Tour standout suffered a right wrist injury during this week’s RBC Canadian Open, but his agent confirmed he still plans to participate in the Telus World Skins Game.

Ames, who missed the cut at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, complained after Friday’s second round that his wrist was “aggravated” and “very swollen.”

He was reportedly feeling better Saturday and will still tee it up Monday and Tuesday at Banff Springs, providing a bit of Canadian content for a five-man field that also includes Americans Lucas Glover and Anthony Kim, England’s Paul Casey and Venezuela’s Jhonattan Vegas.

Ames will be making his fourth appearance in the Telus World Skins Game. He also competed in 2006 at Banff Springs, finishing second with a two-day haul of $95,000.
