PHILADELPHIA - Tiger Woods has decided to end his working relationship with caddie Steve Williams.

Woods made the announcement on his personal website Wednesday.

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it's time for a change," Woods wrote. "Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future."

Williams had caddied for Woods since March of 1999 and helped the former world No. 1 to 13 of his 14 major championships. Fluff Cowan was on the bag for Woods' first Masters title in 1997.

Woods, who has not named a replacement, is continuing to recover from leg injuries and has not yet set a timetable for his return.

With Woods sidelined, Williams caddied for Adam Scott at the U.S. Open.
