Mike Weir has withdrawn from the Puerto Rico Open after starting the tournament at 5-over par through nine holes.
Weir's representative, IMG, says the Bright's Grove, Ont., native has a cyst on his left wrist.
"On-site diagnosis was the week off and rest should do it, but if not, it will have to [be] drained and be fine," IMG said.
Weir bogeyed the fourth, sixth and eighth holes before retiring after a double-bogey on the ninth at Trump International Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
The 2003 Masters champion is coming off a rough couple of weeks which saw his five-tournament medical exemption end without him regaining full exempt status on the PGA Tour.
