Who is the loneliest man at the PGA Championship?
That would be Canadian Open winner Chez Reavie, who drew the earliest third-round tee-off time (8:20 a.m.) and didn't have a playing partner. The 26-year-old from Scottsdale, Ariz., shot a 78. He circled The Monster in breakneck speed, finishing his round in nearly three hours flat.
CANUCK TO COACH O'HAIR
Canadian golf instructor Sean Foley, who counts Stephen Ames among his clients, formalized an agreement this week to coach PGA Championship competitor Sean O'Hair after the two worked together at last month's Canadian Open. O'Hair was two-over par through two rounds at Oakland Hills. Foley, the director of instruction at the Core Golf Junior Academy, will also work with tour pro Hunter Mahan, focusing on his short game.
CAPTAIN AMERICA IN MIX
Paul Azinger was the first U.S. Ryder Cup captain to make the cut at the PGA Championship since Tom Kite finished fifth in 1997. His weekend presence means there will be four of the tournament's former champs -- including 2001 winner David Toms, Phil Mickelson (2005) and Steve Elkington (1995) -- in the mix today.
