Bogey man haunts Fritsch

Brad Fritsch's PGA dreams will have to wait after a "disappointing" finish to Q-school.

The Manotick golfer had five bogeys -- four on the back nine -- en route to a 3-over 75 at Crooked Cat in Florida yesterday. Fritsch wound up tied for 85th at 6-under (the top 25 and ties earn PGA cards) after being in contention the previous five days.

The next number of players nearest 50 get Nationwide Tour exemptions. The remaining players in the 166-man field -- including Fritsch and Lee Curry of Kemptville, who shot 3-under to finish 93th -- receive conditional Nationwide status.

"It's definitely disappointing." said Fritsch, who also lost his Nationwide Tour exemption. "I definitely had a number in my mind about what I had to shoot (yesterday) and maybe I focused on that too much."

Leader Frank Lickliter II finished at 29-under.
