Add yet another prestigious title to Brooke Henderson's impressive golf resume.
The 15-year-old from Smiths Falls, Ont., blew away the field with an excellent final round to win the Canadian women's amateur championship Friday in Beloeil, Que.
Trailing by one entering the fourth round, Henderson carded a tourney-best 5-under 66 to finish at 9-under, six strokes ahead of Anne-Catherine Tanguay of Quebec City. Gabriela Lopez of Mexico was the only other player to break par, finishing at 1-under.
The win comes on the heels of two made cuts in a pair of LPGA Tour events this year -- the U.S. Women's Open (a major) in Southampton, N.Y. and the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic in Waterloo.
It was the third individual win of the year for Henderson, who also captured the South American Amateur in January and the CN Future Links Pacific Championship in May.
