Rory McIlroy won the Shanghai Masters by parring the first playoff hole to defeat Anthony Kim.

McIlroy and Kim both finished regulation at 18-under 270 after McIlroy shot an even-par 72 and Kim a three-under 69 on Sunday at Lake Malaren Golf Club. Since the event is not sanctioned by any tour, no points were awarded for the victory, only money.

The difference between first and second was rather large, with McIlroy taking home $2 million to Kim's $750,000.

Hunter Mahan (70) and Seung-yul Noh (73) shared third at a distant 13-under, while Lee Westwood (67) finished fifth at 12-under.
