Montreal's Lisa Meldrum has become the third Canadian to win this year on the main development circuit of the LPGA Tour.

Meldrum shot a final-round 67 yesterday on the Duramed Futures Tour to win the Impact Classic in Richmond, Va., by one stroke over three other players.

The $14,000 earned by Meldrum vaults her from 45th on the tour money list to 15th, a position that would earn her a ticket to the final stage of LPGA qualifying school.

Earlier this year, Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, B.C., and Oshawa's Angela Buzminski also won Futures Tour events. Richdale is fifth on the money list, which would earn her a LPGA card for next year, while Buzminski is sixth.
