Negotiations for the acquisition of the Eagle Creek Golf Course by ClubLink appear to be in their final stages.

The ClubLink board of directors, according to industry sources, is in the process of approving a deal to buy the Dunrobin course from Andre Lacasse. The rumoured price tag is in the area of $8 million.

Members of ClubLink have access to a network of 36 golf clubs in Ontario and Quebec including Glen Abbey in Oakville and Haute Plaines, Kanata Golf and Country Club and GreyHawk here in the National Capital Region.

AREA'S TOP LAYOUT

Rumours of the sale of Eagle Creek, recognized as the region's top layout (it is the only area club to make ScoreGolf's Top 100 Golf Courses in Canada, ranked 75th), have been swirling for the last month. Lacasse, who bought Eagle Creek in 1996 after it went bankrupt, has refused comment.

In the ClubLink network, golfers have memberships at a home club (which are private for the most part), but have playing privileges at the other ClubLink properties. It's expected Eagle Creek, which Lacasse has operated as a public facility, will become private under the ClubLink umbrella.
