Flash, flair, panache ...
When you think of Chi Chi Rodriguez, you think of a golfer who thrilled crowds with his antics.
And, of course that swordplay with his putter, after draining a putt, was Chi Chi's signature move.
Well, you can see Chi Chi live at Dorchester golf course, an 18-hole layout a few kilometres south of Pigeon Lake, on Aug. 13.
Rodriguez has played a role in helping course owner Gord Dorchester put together the second nine holes, critiquing the par 36, 3,700-yard nine.
There are plans for 235 residential lots in the middle of the course, and the developer is Tirion Properties Ltd., which also was the developer for The Hamptons Country Club in Calgary.
Rodriguez is The Hamptons' touring pro, hence his connection to the Dorchester course.
On the 13th, Rodriguez will offer a clinic at the course (2 p.m.), followed by a round of golf.
Taking in the clinic and watching Rodriguez are both free.
Rodriguez will play with four others, all of whom will be chosen through an auction conducted by Trailblazer RV.
For more information on the auction call 436-7878. For more information on going out to see Chi Chi, phone the Dorchester golf club at 780-586-2350.
