With two rounds in the books, things are tightening up at the top of the leaderboard.

They've cut the field and are shifting venues for the final 36 holes of the Manitoba Men's Amateur Golf Championship.

After playing the first two rounds at Transcona Golf Club, they're down to the top-60 players and ties as the chase for the coveted title shifts to St. Charles Country Club.

First-round leader Tyler Mancini came back to the pack and even fell behind yesterday after carding a 4-over 75.

He's one stroke behind new leader Brad Kirton of Elmhurst, who fired a 2-under 69 yesterday and is 2 under for the tournament.

Mancini is tied for second spot with Matt Johnston of St. Charles, who shot 72 to give him a 36-hole total of 141.

Among those lurking near the top are Garth Collings of Breezy Bend and Brian Kornelsen of Pine Ridge, who are three shots off the pace at 1-over 143.

Stewart Bannatyne of St. Charles, Brad DePape of Breezy Bend, Mark Starodub of Pine Ridge, Ben Bandura of Selkirk and Dave Michaleski of Larters at St. Andrews are in a group at 12-over 44, while 2006 Men's Match Play champion Peter More is hanging around at 145.
