ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) - Scotland's Colin Montgomerie birdied the last hole and finished with a 1-under-par 71 on Sunday at the Old Course to win the Dunhill Links Championship by one stroke.
Montgomerie, who trailed Kenneth Ferrie by five shots before the final round, prevailed on a cold and blustery day when Ferrie only managed a 77 for second. Montgomerie finished with a 279 total.
It was the 42-year-old Scot's first victory since he won the Singapore Masters early last year and his first in Scotland since the Loch Lomond Invitational, now the Scottish Open, in 1999.
