Paulina Gretzky’s steamy Golf Digest cover photo has some LPGA players fuming.

Gretzky, whose sole connection to the professional golf world is her fiance, PGA Tour star Dustin Johnson, graces the magazine’s cover wearing skin-tight Capri pants and a matching bra.

The May issue is dedicated to fitness, but some players didn’t see a connection.

“It’s kind of the state of where we’ve always been. We don’t get respect for being the golfers that we are,” two-time major winner Stacy Lewis told The New York Times. “Obviously, Golf Digest is trying to sell magazines. But at the same time you’d like to see a little respect for the women’s game.”

Teeing off at the Kraft Nabisco Championship on Thursday, world No. 1 Inbee Park shrugged it off.

“Who is that?” she asked.

Gretzky’s other claims to fame include her Instagram account, which she uses to post skimpy photos of herself, and being the daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky. She also graced the cover of Maxim magazine in December 2013 and made the publication’s Hot 100 list in 2012.

“I think I’ve been in many Golf Digests in Korea,” Park said. “I think that still counts as a Golf Digest.”

Park added: “That’s just been the way it is for over 20, 30 years.”

The magazine defended its cover.

“Sports figures, celebrities and models have appeared on Golf Digest covers since the magazine’s beginning,” editor-in-chief Jerry Tarde said on the magazine's website. “Paulina ranks at the high end of the golf celebrity scene today, and she has a compelling story to tell. She also might get some new people interested in the game.”

Only 11 women have appeared alone on Golf Digest’s cover since 1969. The only non-tournament winner other than Gretzky to be featured on the cover is Golf Channel personality Holly Sonders, in May 2013.

“It’s frustrating because it’s Golf Digest; it’s not Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue,” 53-year-old pro Juli Inkster said.
