DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The season-ending LPGA Tour Championship will be played this year at Grand Cypress Golf Club, it was announced Thursday.

The 72-hole tournament will be contested on the North and South courses at the Orlando, Fla., club from December 2-5.

The event made its debut in 2009 at Houstonian Golf & Country Club in Houston, Texas, where Anna Nordqvist won in a rain-delayed Monday finish.

Lorena Ochoa finished runner-up to clinch her fourth straight Player of the Year award, edging out Jiyai Shin on the last day of the season.

The $1.5 million event will again feature two cuts. The 120-player field will be trimmed to the low 70 players and ties after 36 holes and to the low 30 and ties after 54 holes.

Grand Cypress has hosted six previous official LPGA Tour events, most recently in 2001.
