To most competitors at the event it would have been two days to forget.

But to Jade Polonich, they were two of the most memorable days of her life.

Yesterday Polonich shot an 11-over, 82 in the second round of the CN Canadian Women's Open.

Combined with her 84 on the opening day, it gave the local amateur a 24-over, 166 - the highest score by any player in the field.

"You know, I'm not disappointed at all," Polonich said. "This has been a fantastic journey. I'm sad to see it end. I wanted this to be slow motion all week.

"Obviously I would have liked to have played better, but there were so many highs this week, so many emotions, I'm just thrilled to be a part of it."

Polonich, 24, who plays out of the Edmonton Country Club, earned a berth into the tournament by claiming the last qualifying spot at the Edmonton Petroleum Club on Monday.

It was her first LPGA event.

"I can't even describe the support, Edmonton has been phenomenal," she said.

"The country club has been behind me all the way, the volunteers are awesome and so were my family and friends that drove in - I can't describe the feeling."
