A star-studded guest list got even starrier yesterday.
A tournament that already includes Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer, Karrie Webb and Morgan Pressel added another big name when Natalie Gulbis confirmed her entry in the CN Canadian Women's Open at the Royal Mayfair.
It'll be Gulbis's second trip to Edmonton in the calendar year - she attended the Blackhawk Challenge last year with Tom Watson and Paul Azinger and said at the time that she'd love to come back.
True to her word, she'll be teeing it up in the $2.25 million event Aug. 13-19.
While she hasn't won on tour yet, Gulbis is one of the most popular and marketable young stars on the LPGA Tour. She has her own TV show, website, calendar, clothing line and has already amassed $2.6 million US in career earnings.
"Natalie Gulbis is among the premier talents on the LPGA Tour and we are delighted that she will be returning to Canada," said tournament director Sean Van Kesteren.
The deadline for players to confirm their intention is Aug. 7.
