There will be no shortage of big names at next month’s RBC Canadian Open at the Royal Montreal Golf Club — but there’s still plenty of room for more.

While tournament director Bill Paul confirmed Tuesday that Dustin Johnson, Charl Schwartzel, Chris Kirk, Matt Every and Charley Hoffman will be there, Tiger Woods hasn’t been completely ruled out.

Speaking following media day at the historic layout, Paul, who is in charge of putting together the roster, confirmed he had spoken with Woods’ officials.

Woods is recovering from back surgery and has reportedly started taking full swings in hopes of playing in the British Open, which is the week before the PGA Tour comes to Canada.

“I have talked to his camp and right now there’s just no official word on when he’s going to return,” said Paul. “As a golf fan, it would be nice to have him back on tour wherever that stop is."
